Sportsman Twin 15’s Story

Tuesday November 4, were the 3rd & 4th Sportsman races of the 2014-2015 season at Randy’s Raceway.  There were 15 racers on hand to participate in the double show.  Taking the win in the 1st 15 Lapper was Mark Williams.  Mark drove his car to 6 segment wins in the event.  Second spot went to Sheldon Hiester who lost by 17 sections to Mark.  Sheldon won 3 segments on the night.  Third place went to Shane Hiester who lost to Sheldon by only 12 sections.  Shane won 4 segments on the night.  Fourth went to Mike Fizgerald, who won 1 segment on the night.  [Read more…]

Williams Wins Mod Race

Mark Williams scored the win in the Modified feature on the 8 lane at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown PA.  Williams won 7 segments and runner up Shane Hiester kept him from a perfect run beating the #7 on lane 1 at the line.  Hiester wound up second on the night for the 3rd time this season winning 3 segments.  Third spot went to Sheldon Hiester winner of 2 segments.  In his best run of the season Mike Fitzgerald was 4th[Read more…]

Hiester’s Take Two

It was the 1st twin bill of the season at Randy’s Raceway with Sprint Cup action leading off the night as Shane Hiester ran the Miller Lite # 2 to 5 segment wins on way to his 1st Cup win of the season. Sheldon Hiester (-33) scored 6 segment wins in the Goodwrench # 29 turning in a good 2nd place finish. Bryan Kisthart rebounded from a slow start on lane 1, scored 1 segment win to come home 3rd. Williams Wins Modified Show

Mark Williams became the first repeat winner this season in the Modified ranks at Randy’s Raceway.  A nice field of 18 drivers signed in for the event on the Tricky Tri-Oval.  Let’s call it the backward dogleg and see who lands in section 17.  Williams won 4 segments including lane one to gain the victory and a slim 3 point lead early this season.  Brothers Shane and Sheldon Hiester wound up in a tie for second. Mark Williams Nets 1st Sportsman Win

Sportsmen racing returned to Randy’s Raceway for it’s 2nd race of the season, and it’s 1st on the Tri-Oval, and Mark Williams ran his brightly colored #7 to a close win. Mark claimed 4 segment wins on way to his 1st Sportsmen win. Shane Hiester(-12) scored 4 segment wins on way to a good 2nd place finish. Sheldon Hiester Takes Modified Race Number Three

Sheldon Hiester became the first two time feature winner this season at Randy’s Raceway taking the win on the 8 lane oval.  Sheldon previously won a Sportsman event.  He won 4 segments on his way to a 1 lap and 1 segment win over his brother Shane.  Shane Hiester won 2 segments and is the early season points tie in the Modified division.  Third spot went to Veteran racer and promoter Big T.  Tim Bowers making a rare start won a single segment on lane 5 and battled hard with Shane Hiester and Mark williams in many races to earn a nice finish.  [Read more…]

Shane Hiester Takes First Mod Win on the Tri-Oval

Veteran Shane Hiester had no problem winning the first Modified Feature on the relocated Tri-Oval.  Hiester won 4 segments and outdistanced 2nd place by almost a lap.  Bryan Kisthart wound up second with a real strong run winning 5 segments and only struggling a bit on lane 5.  Third spot was veteran Jim Levan who earned his best finish of the season winning lane 6 and staying on the lead lap in every race.  Fourth position was Mark Williams who won 4 segments but struggled in lane one on the bubble.  Rounding out the top five was Race winner’s older brother Sheldon Hiester who won a single segment but crashed out on lane 3.  When was the last time that ever happened.

Randy Haydt Wins Cup Opener

It was the season opener for Sprint Cup racing at Randy’s Raceway with the opening race of the 9 race season on the challenging Tri-Oval. It was track owner Randy Haydt collecting the opening night win, Randy scored 2 segment wins, including a win on lane 1.To change his luck Randy switched over to the silver Kodiak #41, instead of his usual Skoal Bandit #33 body. To finish off a good night Randy also took home the winning from the 50/50 drawing. Runner up honors went to Shane Hiester who won 4 segments running the Blue #2 Miller Lite machine, only 9 pieces of track behind. Sheldon Hiester Takes Sportsman Season Opener

Welcome back slot car enthusiasts.  On Tuesday night September 9, 2014 it was the opening night for the Sportsman Division at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown, PA for the 2014-2015 Racing season.  There were 14 racers on hand for the opener 25 Laps on the 8-Lane Oval.  Taking the win on the night was Sheldon Hiester.  Sheldon won 7 segments on the night in pretty dominating fashion.  Second went to Shane Hiester.  Shane won 4 segments on the night losing by less then a lap to the winner.  Third went to defending Champion Mark Williams.  Mark didn’t win any all night, but was smooth as usual in a good start to defending his championship. WILLIAMS TAKES OPENER

Mark Williams won the Modified opener at Randy’s Raceway to kick off the 2014/2015 season at the Berks County Track.  Williams kept falloffs to a minimum and scored the victory with 6 segment wins.  Second spot went to last years opener winner Shane Hiester who was very fast all night.  Hiester won 4 segments and only struggled on lane 7.  Third position went to the Gettysburg racer Eric Beard who won 5 segments in his #18 racer.  This was a good start for Beard racing who also had another car in the top ten on the evening.  [Read more…]
