The PA Tyco Series is coming to Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown, PA on Sunday January 18, 2015. This Series running only Tyco slot cars has been in existence for a good many years and it is all due to the Hiester family.  Their dedication and support has helped this hobby expand and grow in our area throughout all the years they have been racing.

RACE DAY INFO

The doors will open at 10 am and both tracks will be ready for warmups.  The first race will be at 12 noon on the 6 lane Tri-oval, there will be lunch and snacks in here somewhere and then the  second race will be on the 8 – lane oval.

On Tuesday December 30, 2014 it was the Annual Holidays 200 sponsored by Scott Bender Racing Photos at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown, PA.  There were 23 racers in attendance for the event.  Taking the win was Mark Williams.  Mark won all 8 segments en route to a perfect 200 lap total.  Second went to Shane Hiester.  Shane won 4 segments on the night in his Brian Hirthler 4* car.  Third went to Sheldon Hiester.  Sheldon won 2 segments on the night in the Jared Umbenhauer #5 car.  Fourth went to Mike Fitzgerald.  Mike won 3 segments on the night in his fast Billy Pauch car.  Rounding out the top 5 in fifth was Big T.  Big T won 3 segments on the night.  [Read more…]

Veteran Slot car racer Sheldon Hiester out of Shillington won his second Modified Main event of the season.  Hiester won 2 segments on the night in lanes one and 6.  21 racers took the green on the Tuesday before Christmas and a very competitive night developed with 11 different drivers winning segments.  Shane Hiester would win 4 segments an evening most to come home in the runner-up slot.  Big T who won 3 segment finished a season best third spot.  Mark Williams won 3 segments and came home fourth driving the GTB car.  Rounding out the top five was Mike Fitzgerald who continues his hot streak racing at Randy’s.  Fitzy won a segment on lane 3.  [Read more…]

It was the 2nd annual NASCAR Cup race on the Road Course at Randy’s Raceway and Bryan Kisthart ended a long string of Top 5 runs, as he collected his 1st career win. Bryan’s win was 3 laps over last year’s winner Jim Levan who scored his best Cup finish this year coming home 2nd. Shane Hiester turned in a steady 3rd place finish ahead of brother Sheldon Hiester who finished 4th, both making their initial starts on the Road Course. Mark Williams won his sixth Modified feature of the season this time on the tricky Tri-Oval.  Williams won 5 segments on the night with Bryan Kisthart getting the lone win over Williams.  Veteran local area racer Mike Fitzgerald (Fitzy) scored his best ever finish at the Berks Raceway with a runner-up spot.  Fitzy won two segments on lanes 5 and 6 and just missed wins on 3 other lanes.  Third spot went to Sheldon Hiester as he keeps his string of good finishes going.  [Read more…]

Tonight 12 / 02 / 14 the Tuesday racing is canceled at Randy’s Raceway due to bad weather conditions.
The next race is 12 / 09 /14 Modifieds on the Tri-Oval.

Mark Williams won his third feature in a row beating a hard charging Eric Beard by only 25 pieces of track.  Williams won 7 segments compared to Beard who won 4.  Third spot on the night which saw 18 racers on hand was Sheldon Hiester (4 seg) followed by Shane Hiester (2 seg) and rounding out the top five was Jim Levan.
Notes-
Missing this week were Brian Sponagle and Mike Fitzgerald we hope to see them back in competition soon.  Toby Reinhard seemed to have his car working well this week and just missed the top ten.
