NASCAR Cup racing returned to Randy’s Raceway with Twin 15’s on the 8 lane speedway and Sheldon Hiester turned in a sweep. In the opener running a good looking Dupont #24 Sheldon scored 3 segment wins on way to win number 2 of the Cup season. Less than 1 lap behind Shane Hiester also scored 3 segment wins on lanes 4 – 6 to finish 2nd. Bryan Kisthart rebounded well from a slow start on lanes 1 & 2, to win his final 4 segments to finish 3rd. [Read more…]
Sheldon Hiester ran a near perfect race dispite being on bubble twice during the event and scored his third feature win of the season. Sheldon won three segments and was fast on all 6 lanes driving his own racer. Although having 12 falloffs on the trick Tri-Oval Hiester drove the wheels off his car. Racing right next to season points leader Mark Williams who would end up second just 12 pieces of track back and 2 segment winner on the night. Third spot went to Shane Hiester who had a real good run winning 4 segments including a good run or lane 1. Shane had an axle issue on one lane leading to a lower score on lane 5. [Read more…]
Tuesday night January 27 was the 6th Race of the season for the Sportsman Division at Randy’s Raceway. Their were 14 drivers in attendance for the vent, and taking the victory was Mark Williams who won all 6 segments en-route to his 5th win in the division on the season. Second place went to Shane Hiester who won 3 segments on the evening who ran well all night long. Third went to Sheldon HIester who didn’t win a segment all night long, but still was strong and consistent all night long. Fourth went to Bryan Kisthart who won 2 segments on the night turning in his 3 Top 5 of the season in the Sportsman division. Rounding out the top 5 in fifth was Mike Fitzgerald who won 1 segment on the evening. The rest of the Top 10 ended up like this: 6-Brian Sponagle, 7-Randy Haydt (1 win), 8-Mike Feltenberger (1 win), 9-Scott Bender, and 10-Cory Reinhard. The racing was good all night long, but the track seemed to be a little trickier then normal as the fall offs for some people seemed to be higher then normal for those people, but even with people having more fall offs they still turned in good finishes.
Mark Williams won his 7th Modified feature of the season driving the Gilmore #7. Williams won 6 segments in the middle of the track missing on lanes 1 and 8. Shane Hiester picked up yet another runner-up spot winning a segment on lane 4. Third spot went to veteran Randy Haydt scoring his best finish in a Modified in a long time. The Promoter won on lanes 3 and 4. Fourth spot went to former Champion Brett Gilmore driving his Dad’s GTB car. Making a rare start Brett won segments on lanes 2 thru 4. Rounding out the top five was Sheldon Hiester who also won lanes 2 thru 4. [Read more…]
Races # 3 & 4 of the PA TYCO Series were run on Sunday January 18, 2015 at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown, PA. The 1st Race of the twin bill was held on the 6 Lane Tricky Tri-Oval at Randy’s Raceway. The weather wasn’t kind to us at all so we had a small field of only 10 drivers for the events. Taking the victory on the Tri-Oval was Sheldon Hiester, who won 4 races on the day. Second went to Shane Hiester who won 2 segments on the day and ran well in all 6 of his races. Third went to Scott Bender who turned in his best run of the 2014 – 2015 Series to this point, and Scott won 2 races as well on the day. Fourth went to Randy Haydt making his 1st start of the season in the PA TYCO Series. Randy won 1 race on the day. Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Brian Sponagle, who won 1 race as well on the day. [Read more…]
Cup racing returned to Randy’s Raceway for race 5 of the season on the 8 lane fast track and Kenny Gilmore made his 1st appearance in over a year racing to a win. Kenny scored 6 segment wins on way to the win. Coming off his win on the Road Course Bryan Kisthart turned in a strong effort scoring 5 segment wins to come home with a runner up finish. Cup point leader Shane Hiester turned in a consistent run of 19’s on all 8 lanes to finish 3rd. Sheldon Hiester scored a segment win on lane 1 keeping his string of Top 5’s alive with a 4th place finish. Randy Haydt scored 1 segment win to close out the Top5, it was his 2nd straight 5th place finish. [Read more…]
