Gilmore Sweeps to Sprint Car Win
It was the 8th annual 40 lap Sprint car event and Kenny Gilmore again dominated this race winning all 8 segments on way to the win. Mark Williams scored 5 segment wins turning in 2nd place run. Sheldon Hiester had a good run scoring 2 segment wins for a 3rd place finish. Freddy Mac and Rookie Kevin Sponagle Claim Victories In Double Header
Tuesday Night we were up on the Tri-Oval for the first time this season with races for the Sportsman and IROC divisions. We had 10 racers on hand that participated in each event. In the Sportsman race Fred McCullough took the victory winning 4 of his 6 segments on road to his victory. Second went to Randy Haydt who won 1 segment in his strong run on the Tri-Oval. Third went to Shane Hiester who ran steady all night but did not win a segment on the night. [Read more…]
Jim Levan Wins Third
Veteran Jim Levan won his third Modified Feature of the season at Randy’s Raceway, becoming the 3rd three-time winner this year. In a stacked field of 16 racers Levan won all six segments on the Short Track race and only had 4 falloffs all night. Current point leader Mark Williams was runner-up winning 5 segments after coming back on lane 1 after just missing a win on the first race of the night out in lane 6. [Read more…]
Williams Wins Third Feature in the Modifieds
Mark Williams won his third Modified Feature of the season and moved into the point lead, as Brett Gilmore was not in attendance. Williams won 7 segments driving a fluoresant Pink Modified owned by Kenny Gilmore. Shane Hiester wound up a close second as he won 6 segments in his fast #102. Third spot went to last week’s winner Jim Levan. Levan won 3 segments in his white coupe bodied racer. [Read more…]
Hiester’s Sweep Tuesday’s Twin 15’s
Racing action returned to the Tri-Oval at Randy’s Raceway for the 1st time this season and Shane Hiester ended a long string of top 5 runs with his 1st Cup win. Shane scored 3 segment wins on lanes 1 – 3 on way to the checked flag. Only 1 lap behind Sheldon Hiester turned in his best Cup finish of the year with a 2nd place effort, winning 3 segments. Bob Amore also turned in his best run of the year coming home with a steady 3rd place finish. Levan Wins Again
Veteran slot car driver and one of the original Randy’s Raceway drivers Jim Levan won the Modified Feature for the second time this season. The win was also his second in the last three weeks. Jim ran his #1 white bodied racer to 3 segment wins and stayed on the lead lap in every race but 1. Second spot went to hard charging Shane Hiester who won 2 segments on lanes 4 and 6. [Read more…]
Jim Levan, Randy Haydt Double Up on Wins
Cup action moved to the fast 8 laner, and Jim Levan scored his 2nd straight Cup win. Jim scored 4 segment wins on lanes 2-5 on way to the win. Only 20 pieces of track behind Randy Haydt won 5 segments for a runner up finish. Shane Hiester continued his nice string of top 5’s with a steady 3rd place effort. Gilmore Almost Perfect in Mods
Brett Gilmore came back strong this week to get back in the winners circle at Randy’s Raceway on the 8 lane. Gilmore drove the family owned #7 to the win taking 7 segments and only missing on lane 1. Mark Williams in another Kenny Gilmore prepped racer was second winner of 4 segments, one of which was a spirited tie with Billy Decker. Third spot went to Shane Hiester out of Shillington who won 2 segments on the hot lanes 3 and 4. Fourth was Shane’s brother Sheldon who had a lone segment win on lane 4. [Read more…]
Shane and Fred Take Tuesday Night Wins
On Tuesday night November 11, 2011 was Third race of the season for the Sportsman and IROC divisions at Randy’s Raceway. The double header moved to the 8-Lane for the first time this season. Taking the win in the Sportsman division was point leader Shane Hiester. Shane won 3 segments on the night in his Jared Umbenhauer ride. Second went to Billy Decker. Billy won 2 segments on the night, and has been running strong as of late. Third went to Sheldon Hiester. Sheldon won 4 segments on the night in his Andy Fayash ride, but in the races he didn’t win he drove like Andy. [Read more…]
