Veteran Slot Car Racer Jim Levan won his first Modified Feature of the season at Randy’s Raceway on Tuesday night on the Short Track six lane. Levan was impressive winning all segments except one on lane 2. Brett the Jet Gilmore won 5 segments and finished just 1 piece of track behind Levan’s #1 mod. Gilmore drove his familiar #7 and held onto a tie for the point lead. Levan, Haydt Score Tuesday Wins
Jim Levan scored his 1st Cup win of the year Tuesday night running on the Short-Track. Jim won 4 segments on way to the win. Shane Hiester turned in a solid run winning 2 segments on lanes 1 & 6 for a runner up finish. Just 2 pieces of track behind Billy Decker scored 2 segment wins turning in a good 3rd place finish. Williams Wins Second Modified Main
Mark Williams won his second Modified feature on the season and moves into a tie for the point lead with Idle Brett Gilmore. Williams won all 8 segments scoring a perfect 160. Second spot went to Shane Hiester who won 4 segments and was also on the lead lap in all other races. Third went to the last Modified features winner Sheldon Hiester who did not win a segment but stayed on the lead lap in all 8 races. Fourth was veteran Jim Levan driving his orange coupe. Defending Champ Doubles Up
Tuesday night October 25, 2011 was the second race of the season for the Sportsman and IROC divisions at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown. There were 14 racers on hand. Taking the win in the headliner was defending champion Shane Hiester. Shane drove to the win on the Short track winning 4 segments on the night. Second went to the always smooth running Fred McCullough. Fred won 2 segments on the night. Third went to Billy Decker. Billy won 3 segments on the night coasting his way to a good run. Sheldon Hiester Wins Career First Modified Race at Randy’s Raceway
Sheldon Hiester used consistency to record his first career Modified Feature at Randy’s Raceway. Although he won just 1 segment he was on the lead lap every race except 1 and never had more than 2 falloffs in any segment. Randy Haydt Sweeps to 2nd Cup Win
Cup racing moved to the Short track for race 2 of the season and Randy Haydt drove his Skoal Bandit #33 to a sweep for his 2nd win of the year. Billy Decker turned in a solid run with his Nestle’s Crunch #32, winning 4 segments to come home 2nd. Sheldon Hiester scored 3 segment wins finishing 3rd. [Read more…]
Gilmore Wins Second in a Row
Brett Gilmore scored his second straight Modified feature win winning all 8 segments once again along the way. A field of 19 racers was on hand including many time local champion Big T. Second spot went to Mark Williams who won 6 segments on lanes 3 through 8. Third was Shane Hiester winning 2 segments and finishing real strong. Fourth spot was veteran Bob Amore who won 1 segment and made the top 5 even with a bubble out. Rounding out the top 5 was Sheldon Hiester who also won 1 segment. Other segment winners were Big T, Jim Levan. Nick Wummer just missed the top 10.
Hiester Twins Sweep Sprtsman and IROC Series Openers
Tuesday Night at Randy’s Raceway were the openers for the Sportsman and IROC classes. In the Sportsman it was Sheldon Hiester taking the victory, winning 4 out of the 6 segments on his way to the victory. Second place went to Bob Amore, who won 5 segments on the night on his way to a strong second place finish. Brett Gilmore returned to victory lane at Randy’s Raceway in the Modified feature on Tuesday night. Gilmore scored a perfect 8 segment wins with only 5 falloffs to record the win.
