The Berks / Lebanon Modified Racing Series ran its final race of the season on Saturday at Little T’s Speedway in Myerstown. PA. Small Block racing opened up the day and Little T turned in a perfect’ run winning all 6 segments with no fall offs on way to his 1st Small Block win. Randy Haydt scored 1 segment win to

come home 2nd, with that finish it was enough to claim the point title by 6 points. Toby Reinhard claimed 2 segment wins on lanes 5 & 6, for a 3rd place run it was his 1st Series Top 5.

Small Block Top Three (R to L) 1st Randy Haydt / 2nd Mark Williams / 3rd Sam Heller

Race 3 of the Berks / Lebanon Modified Series was run on Saturday at Randy’s Raceway Kutztown, PA on the 8 lane fast track. Before  a sellout crowd and a Series record 22 racers jamming the pit area the Small Block Modifieds rolled out 1st and Randy Haydt running that new Chucky body scored 2 segment wins on way to a convincing win. It was his 2nd Small Block win of the year. Randy’s win was only 24 pieces of track ahead of Mark Williams who started off strong winning 5 segments on lanes 1-5, collected his best Small Block run of the year finishing 2nd. Woodland winner Sam Heller scored 2 segment wins to hold on to a close 3rd place finish.

The Berks / Lebanon Modified Racing Series ran it’s 2nd race of the season on Saturday at Woodland Raceway in Boyertown, Pa. A strong field of 19 Small Block Modifieds were called out 1st. Following his Opening Day Runner Up finish Sam Heller Sr. turned in a dominating “sweep” on way to his 1st Series win. Opening Day winner Randy Haydt nearly made it 2 in a row, scoring 4 segment wins, and trailing Sam by only 3 pieces of track at the finish for a close 2nd place run. The Berk’s / Lebanon Modified Racing Series kicked off it’s season on Saturday at Randy’s Raceway on the always challenging Tri-Oval. The Small Block Modified were called out 1st, Last Year’s Small Block Champion Randy Haydt won the title without a win, in the Small Block Opener this year Randy ended that string turning in a strong run. Randy won 3 segments on the middle lanes on way to a close win. Less than a lap behind veteran Sam Heller Sr. who has been off the Tri-Oval for a while, scored 3 segment wins. He had only 2 fall offs and turned in a very good 2nd place finish. Jim LeVan scored 4 segment wins on the middle lanes to come home with a steady 3rd place finish. [Read more…]

The Berk’s / Lebanon Modified Racing Series recently concluded it’s first season of racing, the 3 race season with a 2 division Series provided a lot of fun and some close action. Both the championships were decided by a total of 8 points. In the Big Block Series opener at ‘Little T’s ” speedway ti was Jim LeVan starting his championship run with a sweep to score the opening day win. Jim followed that win up with a 2nd place finish in race 2 at Randy’s Raceway. In race 3 at Woodland Raceway Jim closed out the Series with a 9th place finish just enough to win the Series by 2 points. Tim “Little T” Bowers opened the Series with a 4th place finish, than in the middle race of the Series Tim scored a 7th place finish. In the Series closer Tim turned in a convincing sweep on way to the win at Woodland Raceway just missing out on the title by 2 points, but a solid 2nd place finish in the final standing. The Berks-Lebanon Modified Racing Series ran it’s 3rd and final race of the season at Woodland Raceway on Saturday and Tim “Little T” Bowers turned in a dominating sweep in the Series finale. A good field of 17 racers were signed in the pits and in the Big Block opener Tim “Little T” Bowers turned in a sweep along with only 1 fall off on way to his 1st Big Block victory. Only 22 pieces of track behind, Brian Sponagle drew the #1 pill then went on to score 5 segment wins on way to a strong Runner up finish (who invited him?). Toby Reinhard scored 2 segment wins his 2nd top 3 finish in the Series to cross the line in 3rd.
