Defending Champ Doubles Up

Tuesday night October 25, 2011 was the second race of the season for the Sportsman and IROC divisions at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown.  There were 14 racers on hand.  Taking the win in the headliner was defending champion Shane Hiester.  Shane drove to the win on the Short track winning 4 segments on the night.  Second went to the always smooth running Fred McCullough.  Fred won 2 segments on the night.  Third went to Billy Decker.  Billy won 3 segments on the night coasting his way to a good run.  Fourth went to Mark Williams.  Mark won 3 segments on the night in a Hiester prepared Sportsman.  Rounding out the top 5 was Sheldon Hiester. Sheldon Hiester Wins Career First Modified Race at Randy’s Raceway

Sheldon Hiester used consistency to record his first career Modified Feature at Randy’s Raceway.  Although he won just 1 segment he was on the lead lap every race except 1 and never had more than 2 falloffs in any segment.  The win was very well deserved and a popular win for the second-generation veteran slot car racer.  Second spot went to 2-time season winner Brett Gilmore.  [Read more…]

Randy Haydt Sweeps to 2nd Cup Win

Cup racing moved to the Short track for race 2 of the season and Randy Haydt drove his Skoal Bandit #33 to a sweep for his 2nd win of the year. Billy Decker turned in a solid run with his Nestle’s Crunch #32, winning 4 segments to come home 2nd. Sheldon Hiester scored 3 segment wins finishing 3rd. [Read more…]

Gilmore Wins Second in a Row

Brett Gilmore scored his second straight Modified feature win winning all 8 segments once again along the way.  A field of 19 racers was on hand including many time local champion Big T.  Second spot went to Mark Williams who won 6 segments on lanes 3 through 8.  Third was Shane Hiester winning 2 segments and finishing real strong.  Fourth spot was veteran Bob Amore who won 1 segment and made the top 5 even with a bubble out.  Rounding out the top 5 was Sheldon Hiester who also won 1 segment.  Other segment winners were Big T, Jim Levan.  Nick Wummer just missed the top 10.
