2nd Annual Bruce Heller Memorial Crash & Burn Tie Breaker to Sheldon Hiester

17 racers and a few more spectators showed up at Rich and Michele’s RMS Motorsports high speed oval for the 2nd Annual Bruce Heller Memorial being hosted by Rich and Michelle. $400 was raised by auctioning off parts and bodies donated by Bob Amore, Rich Schmidt and Mr. Bill from Northern California. Kenny Gilmore Returns to Winners Circle

Former modified champion Kenny Gilmore made a rare start and sweep the modified show on the super competitive Tri-oval to take a modified feature win for the first time in a few years.  Gilmore beat a tough field of 20 racers on hand at Randy’s Raceway.  Mark Williams wound up second and extended his point lead.  Williams won 5 segments with his only 19 coming while Gilmore was on the track.  Third spot was veteran Jim Levan who won 4 segments in his fast #1.  Fourth spot was Sheldon Hiester who notched 3 segment wins.  [Read more…]

Williams Wins Twin Bill

Mark Williams won his first Cup feature of this season taking the 15 lappers on the Tri-Oval.  11 racers were on hand to test the tough Tri-Oval once again and many tight races were presented on the track with a third turn.  Williams won 4 segments on his way to a narrow victory over Sheldon Hiester (4 seg.) by 7 pieces of track.  Third went to veteran Jim Levan in his familiar orange Cup car.  Levan had 2 segment wins.  Fourth went to current point leader Shane Hiester who had consistent runs on all 6 lanes.  Rounding out the top 5 was Billy Decker out of Nazareth PA winner of 2 segments.

Williams Wins Modified Main Event

Mark Williams won his second feature in a row in the Modified division taking all 8 lanes on the big oval at Randy’s Raceway.  Second spot went to veteran Manheim racer Bill Brenner driving the Beard #18 winning 1 segment.  Third spot went to Jim Levan who took 3 segments followed closely by Scott Bender with 1 segment win to his credit.  Rounding out the top five was Eric Beard winner of 3 segments.  Toby Reinhard finished 6th with Shane Hiester and Sheldon Hiester 7th and 8th and Tony Z 9th with his car owner Bill Decker 10th.

Randy Wins Two

Tuesday night January 31, 2012 was the fifth race for the Sportsman and IROC divisions at Randy’s Raceway.  There were 15 racers on hand for the Sportsman portion of the night.  Randy Haydt swept the cat hair away to a two-victory night.  In the Sportsman Randy won 5 segments in route to the victory.  Second went to Fred McCullough who really has figured out the Tri-Oval.  Fred won 5 segments on the night.  Third went to point leader Shane Hiester.  Shane won 1 segment on the night.  Fourth went to Mark Williams.  Mark won 2 segments on the night in his Hiester prepared Sportsman.  Rounding out the top 5 was Sheldon Hiester.  Sheldon won 3 segments on the night.  [Read more…]
