Doubleheader action was on tap at Randy’s Raceway with the Modifieds opening up the night going 15 laps on 6 lanes, a field of 17 racers signed in and Mark Williams turned in a sweep on way to the win. Sheldon Hiester Gets 2nd Cup Win

Cup racing returned to Randy’s Raceway Tuesday night on the challenging Tri-Oval and Sheldon Hiester scored 2 segment wins on way to a close win, his 2nd of the year. Sheldon’s win was only 8 pieces of track ahead of Mark Williams who ran his multi colored machine to 5 segment wins coming home 2nd. Kenny Gilmore Scores Cup Win

Cup racing returned for it’s 3rd race of the season on the 8 lane Speedway and Kenny Gilmore made his 1st start a narrow win. Kenny scored 3 segment wins on way to a close 5 piece of track win. Mark Williams ran his brightly colored, un-sponsored, and numberless yellow machine to 5 segment wins for a 2nd place run. Cup racing made it’s 2nd start of the season this time on the 8 lane Speedway and Mark Williams ran his Wheaties#3 to 6 segment wins on way to a close win. Mark’s win was only 9 pieces of track ahead of Shane Hiester who ran the Miller Lite#2 to 5 segment wins to finish 2nd. Jim Levan Wins Cup Opener

It was the season opener for NASCAR Cup racing on Tuesday night at Randy’s Raceway, and for the 2nd straight season Jim Levan scored the opening night win. Drawing pill #1 Jim ran his bright Orange #1 to 3 segment wins on way to the win. Only 21 pieces of track off the pace Bryan Kisthart turned in his best Cup effort, winning 5 segments for a strong 2nd place finish. [Read more…]

Shane Hiester Wins Modified Opener

It was opening night for the Modifieds at Randy’s Raceway as a strong field of 19 racers signed in, and Shane Hiester turned in a strong performance winning 3 segments on way to the win. Shane’s win was less than 1 lap over Mark Williams who scored 1segment win to come home with a good Runner up finish. Hiester’s Tie for Cup Title and NASCAR Season Review

The cup division at Randy’s Raceway has always been a very close and competitive class, but the way this season unfolded nobody would have predicted. Heading into the season’s final race 3 drivers had a shot to claim the title, Jim Levan, Shane and Sheldon Hiester were separated by only 6 points. The season final race came on the 8 lane fast track and Shane Hiester scored the race win by less than 1 lap over brother Sheldon, to finish in a tie for the NASCAR point championship, this a 1st in 12 years of racing at Randy’s Raceway. Rules Meeting Held for the 2013 – 14 Season

It was the season ending rules meeting held at Randy’s Raceway on Tuesday night. There was a good group of people sharing their opinions on many topics in attendance. Corey Bailey, Donna Bryant, Brian Palencar, Jim Levan, Shane and Sheldon Hiester, Brian Kisthart, Bob Amore, Mike Feltenberger and Mark & Jodi Williams were in on the decision-making.

Schedule Modified
15 race season — 8 races on the 8 lane, and 7 on the Tri-Oval.

Schedule Sportsman
9 race season — 5 on the Tri-Oval, and 4 on the 8 lane.

Schedule NASCAR
9 race season — 4 on the 8 lane, 4 on the Tri-Oval, and 1 on the Road Course.
With many positive responses from the recent banquet race held on the road course, everybody agreed a NASCAR race on the road course would be something different and a new challenge for some of us.

Points
Different ideas were discussed but no changes will be made for this year.

only thing allowed is advancing motors.

Bodies
bodies must have full rear wheel wells.

NASCAR Rule Changes

Gears
ratio can range
from Minimum 20 to Maximum 24. A stock 25 gear is also allowed. All gears must be stamped ( except stock )

Power Person to Run the Races
Beginning next year a list will go around for people to sign and volunteer to do power during the night.

Shane Hiester Claims Cup Final

The Cup point title and season’s final race were on tap for the 8-lane Super Speedway. It was a fun and crazy night of racing as Shane Hiester started off the night winning 6 segments on way to his 3rd Cup win of the year and a share of the NASCAR point title. Shane edged out brother Sheldon for the race win by less than 1 lap. Sheldon scored 3 segment wins for a strong runner up finish. [Read more…]
