Tom Wenner Scores First Sprint Win

It was race 2 of the season for the Sprint cars Tuesday night and Tom Wenner collected his 1st career winged victory.  Tom scored 6 segment wins in his Billy Pauch sprint car and had to hold off a strong challenge from Runner-Up Randy Haydt who just missed out on his 1st win by 11 pieces of track. Randy scored 2 segment wins. Opening night winner Mark Williams scored a segment win on lane 8 was 3rd. Jim Levan had a steady run scoring 1 segment win to finish 4th. Scott Bender scored 1 segment win on lane 2 was 5th.

Tear Offs: Brian V. had a new car and finished 8th Larry S had a good 9th place finish. Sorry to report the bad news that “Spanky” did not survive his mishap with Randy last week in the infield. Next Week Modifieds back on the Tri-Oval.

Mark Williams Scores Close Win on The  Tri-Oval

Mark Williams scored his 3rd Modified win of the season on the Tri-Oval Tuesday night. Mark scored 4 segment wins as he had to hold off a strong challenge from Cory Reinhard who also claimed 4 segment wins and just missed out on his 2nd straight win by 21 pieces of track. Following closely behind, Randy Haydt ran his sharp looking Freddy Adam machine to 3 segment wins on way to a good 3rd place finish. Mark Williams cruises to a convincing NASCAR win on the Tricky Tri-Oval at Randy’s Raceway

Champion driver Mark Williams is on cruise control so far in 2019, Mark cruised to a very strong Nascar victory on the Tricky Tri-Oval on Tuesday, October 15. Mark was perfect on the night winning all 6 segments scoring a strong 120 laps and only de-slotting 6 times on the way to the victory. Mark is forcing everyone in the pit area to raise their game this season. Finishing a strong second was track promoter Randy J. Haydt. Randy won 4 races with the Danica #7 machine on the way to his strong runner-up spot. Corey Reinhard fresh off his Modified feature win from the week prior scored a strong 3rd place finish. Cory Reinhard Tames The Tri-Oval

Modified racing returned to the always challenging Tri-Oval for the 1st Modified race of the season.  Cory Reinhard scored a very convincing “Sweep” on way to his 1st Modified win of the year. Cory’s win was by only 5 pieces of track ahead of Mark Williams who scored 5 segment wins on way to a strong Runner Up finish. Toby Reinhard capped off  a solid night of racing for team TCS,  scoring 2 segment wins for his best Tri-Oval run finishing 3rd. Just 5 pieces of track off the pace Jim LeVan had a good run collecting 4 segment wins including a win on lane 1 to finish 4th. Randy Haydt had a slow start on the front lanes but scored 2 segment wins on lanes 5 & 6 closing out the Top 5. John Kosmoski  just missed the Top 5, but had a good run to finish 6th, Tony Zappacosta also with a good effort was 7th, Scott Bender was 8th, Brian Sponagle was 9th, and Brian Van Buskirk closed out  the Top 10.

 Take Out’s: Good turn out for early in the season as 20 racers were in the field. Nice to have Nick Wummer back with us finishing 14th with a segment win. Good run by Tony Z finishing 7th, Brian V. with a 10th place finish. Larry S 15th and Rob L 16th. Racing stays on the Tri-Oval next week as Cup returns.

Mark Williams drives to a convincing Nascar Victory at Randy’s Raceway

Mark Williams is now 4 for 5 on the 2019 season with a very convincing NASCAR feature win. Mark scored win #4 on the season, Week #2 for  the NASCAR division at Randy’s Raceway. Mark scored 3 race segment wins on the way to victory lane. Finishing in 2nd position was opening day winner, Tom Wenner who scored 4 race segment wins on his way to the runner-up spot. Track Promoter Randy Jay Haydt completed the podium with a 3rd place finish. Randy racing a new Danica themed Bob Amore tribute body, Raced to 2 segment wins. Brian Sponagle who is always tough when the NASCAR Tycos hit the track, Spoons raced to a 4th place finish with 1 segment win. Capping off the top 5 is Mike Mackaravitz who raced to 1 of his best finishes ever at Randy’s Raceway. Mike had a very strong night with 3 race victories in scoring his top 5 finish. [Read more…]

Williams Wins Modified Main Event

Mark Williams made to two for two in the early going this season after holding off a strong field of 19 racers at Randy’s Raceway.  Williams won on all 8 lanes this time in the Green Modified.  Second place went to last years runner-up in points Cory Reinhard.  Driving his #5 he won 3 segments on the evening.  Third spot went to Little T who won a single segment on lane 5, the Myerstown racer drove his Bob Amore bodied car #91.  Veteran Jim LeVan shurded off a bad crash on lane six at 8:11pm to grab a solid 4th place finish.  The top five was completed by Billy Decker who ran consistant races all the way through.  The remaining top ten were Tom Wenner, Scott Bender (2 wins), Randy Haydt (2 wins), Toby Reinhard (1 win), and Brian Sponagle (1 win).

 

MARK WILLIAMS WINS SPRINT CAR OPENER

Sprint car racing returned for their season opener Tuesday night and Mark Williams turned in a solid run winning 6 segments to claim the  Opening night win. Randy Haydt scored 4 segment wins on lanes 1-4 came home with a a strong 2nd place finish. Scott Bender ran his Tony Stewart machine and scored 2 segment wins on lanes 1-2 to finish 3rd. Just 23 pieces of track behind Billy Decker scored his best  Sprint car run winning 1 segment for a good 4th place finish. Toby Reinhard had a strong run winning 2 segments including a win on lane 8 rounded out the top5

Williams Wins Modified Season Opener

Defending Modified Champion Mark Williams returned to victory lane on week one.  Driving his familiar Kenny Gilmore built MW car Williams won 5 segments.  Second spot went to Veteran Tim Bower’s Jr who is making Randy’s Raceway his new Tuesday night stop.  Little T won 3 segments and survived a wild crash on lane 7 which took his car out of competition.  Randy Haydt scored his second third place finish of the season already in week two.  The racing promoter won 3 segments.  Fourth spot went to Toby Reinhard, the senior member of TCAS racing won a single segment on lane 4.  Rounding out the top five was Tom Wenner who also won on lane 4.  Wenner had a strong run coming off his Opening Night win in the Cup division a week ago. Tom Wenner drives to Randy’s Raceway NASCAR Division 19th Season Opening Night Victory

The 19th Season for Randy’s Raceway opened on Tuesday, September 3 with a 20 Lap NASCAR Division Opening Season Special Event. After a moment of silence for Veteran Racer Bob Amore who passed away recently and some words by Little T the racing was set to begin.  A record 22 drivers signed into the pits to compete for the top spot in the hard body NASCAR division on the famed 8 lane oval. Fresh off his rookie season, Wenner ran a strong consistent night only falling off the track 1 time in a near perfect race night. Wenner won 7 races on the night to score the win. Randy’s Raceway Legendary Champion driver Mark Williams came out strong for the new season with a 2nd place finish. Mark scored 5 race wins to secure 2nd place by 7 track sections. Mark was in mid season form as he only fell off the track twice all night.  Track Promoter and Tyco Master Randy Jay Haydt finished a close 3rd with 4 race wins. [Read more…]

Tuesday Night Preview

 

The 19th season of slot car racing at Randy’s Raceway is set for Tuesday night September 3rd. Racing this year will be on 3 tracks, the Tri-Oval, 8 lane and the Road Course. This year 4 divisions will see action, Modified racing will split it’s 15 race season on the Tri-Oval and 8 lane. Nascar racing will be a 7 race season that will include it’s annual road course race and Twin10’s on the Tri-Oval. The lightning fast Sprint cars will be back running a 6 race season. IROC racing  will also be running a 6 race season with 2 races on each track. The season opens September 3rd with Nascar racing on the 8 lane with a special 25 lap segment show.  Modifieds and Sprints will be next with their openers the following weeks.
