Modified racing returned to the action packed Tri-Oval for the1st time this year at Randy’s Raceway and Mark Williams raced off to his 3rd straight Modified checkered flag. Mark scored 5 segment wins on way to the win, with only 1 fall off. Turning in his 2nd straight Runner up finish Randy Haydt scored 4 segment wins to finish 2nd. Mark Williams Makes it Two in a Row

Modified racing was back on the 8 lane fast track and Modified Champion Mark Williams scored his 2nd straight modified win. Mark scored 4 segment wins on lanes 2, 4, 6, and 8 to claim the win. Randy Haydt ran his “CHUCKY” machine to a strong 2nd place finish, winning 1 segment. “CHUCKY” had a much better set up in his car this week. Mark Williams Wins Modified Opener

Modified racing returned for it’s season opener Tuesday night at Randy’s Raceway and defending champion Mark Williams kicked off the season with a close win. Running his Gilmore #7 machine Mark won 4 segments to claim the win. Runner up Brian Kisthardt ran his Tim Fuller #19, to 3 segment wins to finish 2nd. Only 10 pieces of track behind, Scott Bender scored 2 segment wins to come home 3rd. [Read more…]

Randy Haydt Wins IROC Title by One Point

IROC racing returned to Randy’s Raceway, this division has always been very close and competitive, this year was no different. Going into the season final race Mark Williams held the point lead, but Randy scored a win in the final race of the season. Mark scored a 6th place finish, which turned out to be a 1 point difference giving  Randy the IROC point title. Randy scored a total of 3 wins, to go along with 3 other Top5 finishes. It was Randy’s 2nd career IROC Title. Mark Williams had a strong IROC season scoring 3 wins, and 4 Top 5 runs on way to his 2nd place finish. Mark also scored the most segment wins with 15. Brian Sponagle also had a very good IROC campaign collecting 5 Top5 finishes, and his 1st career IROC win in January on the tough Tri-Oval. [Read more…]

Mark Williams Wins Cup Title

 

This years 9 race Cup season was again a competitive season with racing on the 6 Lane Tri-Oval, 8 Lane Oval, and a Road Course race. This year’s Cup champion Mark Williams turned in a dominating season. In a close point chase at mid-season, Mark scored 3 wins and a 2nd place finish in the final 4 races to claim the title. Mark had a total of 4 wins and 3 2nd place runs to go along with 31 segment wins on way to the championship. Randy Haydt had a very consistent Cup season, despite not collecting a Cup win Randy tallied 7 Top 4 finishes, to score a 2nd place finish in the final standing, to go along with 11 segment wins. Driver Car Rule and Race Format Changes for 2016 – 17

It was the season ending Rules Meeting at Randy’s Raceway Tuesday night. Discussing several topics  the group included Randy Haydt, Billy Decker, Brian Vanbuskirk, Scott Bender, Toby Reinhard, Tony Zappacosta, Brian Sponagle, Jim LeVan, Mark Williams, and Jody Williams.
Specialty Races: Their will be 2 specialty races run during the season, their were many good suggestions including: Backwards Race, Russian Roulette Racing, Timed Race, Crash and Burn racing, Minus a Lap race, White Out racing, and the Tyco 500. The 2 races will be determined when the season starts with input from the entire group.
NASCAR: All NASCAR races will drop from 15 to 12 lap events to allow everybody the chance to run the IROC race that follows. Also NASCAR bodies must have full fenders with the body covering all 4 tires while looking down on the car.

Mark Williams Wins Season Ending Cup Race

It was the season ending Cup race Tuesday night at Randy’s Raceway and Mark Williams running the Budweiser #50 claimed 6 segment wins on way to his 4th win of the season, and also winning the Cup point title. Billy Decker ran the maroon #3 to 4 segment wins on way to a solid 2nd place finish, it was his 6th top 5 finish in Cup action this year. Jim LeVan, Randy Haydt Berk’s / Lebanon Series Champions

The Berk’s / Lebanon Modified Racing Series recently concluded it’s first season of racing, the 3 race season with a 2 division Series provided a lot of fun and some close action. Both the championships were decided by a total of 8 points. In the Big Block Series opener at ‘Little T’s ” speedway ti was Jim LeVan starting his championship run with a sweep to score the opening day win. Jim followed that win up with a 2nd place finish in race 2 at Randy’s Raceway. In race 3 at Woodland Raceway Jim closed out the Series with a 9th place finish just enough to win the Series by 2 points. Tim “Little T” Bowers opened the Series with a 4th place finish, than in the middle race of the Series Tim scored a 7th place finish. In the Series closer Tim turned in a convincing sweep on way to the win at Woodland Raceway just missing out on the title by 2 points, but a solid 2nd place finish in the final standing. NASCAR Starting Lineup

Cup racing and the IROC final race of the season returned to the Tri – Oval for the final doubleheader of the year. In the Cup opener Mark Williams ran the Budweiser # 50 to 4 segment wins on way to his 3rd Cup win of the season. Finishing in a tie for 2nd was Brian Sponagle and Randy Haydt. Brian scored 2 segment wins turning in another good run on the Tri – Oval. Randy also scored 2 segment wins for his 5th straight Top 5 finish of the year. [Read more…]

Bryan Kisthardt Wins Sprint Car Closer

The sprint cars ran it’s 6th and final race of the season Tuesday night on the 8 lane fast track and Bryan Kisthardt scored his 2nd straight win of the season. Running the Fred Rahmer # 51 Bryan swept all 6 segments on way to the win along with only 1 fall off. Only 1 lap behind Scott Bender finished off a great season with 1 segment win and no fall offs to finish 2nd and winning the Championship. Also 1 lap behind Mark Williams scored 3 segment wins to cross the line 3rd. [Read more…]
