Shane Hiester Wins Fourth Modified Main

Veteran Shane Hiester squeaked out a victory by the slimmest of margins after winning all six lanes on the tricky Tri-Oval.  With the win Shane is now just 1 behind his brother Sheldon.  Mark Williams running the Gilmore #7 finished second just missing a perfect by 1 piece of track.  Scott Bender won on lane 3 taking Williams out of victory lane and leaving him still looking for that 1st Modified win.  [Read more…]

Randy Haydt Takes First Feature Win of the Year

On Tuesday night February 26 the Sportsman Division was back in action at Randy’s Raceway on the Short Track. This will be for the last time this season and for good as the track has been sold and will be leaving Randy’s basement at the end of the racing season.  There were 20 racers on hand and participated in the event.  Taking the win was Randy Haydt who won 3 segments in route to the victory for the first time this season in a Shane Hiester prepared car. Sheldon Heister Takes Fifth Modified Win

Randy’s Raceway veteran Sheldon Hiester won 3 segments on his way to feature win number 5 this season at the Berks County Oval.  For Hiester the win was a tough one as he battled the track and tough competition on the lower lanes and won on lanes 4, 5, and 7.  21 Racers were on hand so the format switched to 15 lappers with 4 falloffs.  We had a few really close races with multiple cars in the hunt.  Second spot went to Shane Hiester who won lanes 1 thru 4 before someone knocked him off the unbeaten track.  Third spot in a really strong run went to Exeter’s Mike Fitzgerald.  Fitz won three lanes and was only 11 pieces behind Shane at the finish.
