Mark Williams won his 7th Modified feature of the season driving the Gilmore #7.  Williams won 6 segments in the middle of the track missing on lanes 1 and 8.  Shane Hiester picked up yet another runner-up spot winning a segment on lane 4.  Third spot went to veteran Randy Haydt scoring his best finish in a Modified in a long time.  The Promoter won on lanes 3 and 4.  Fourth spot went to former Champion Brett Gilmore driving his Dad’s GTB car.  Making a rare start Brett won segments on lanes 2 thru 4.  Rounding out the top five was Sheldon Hiester who also won lanes 2 thru 4.  [Read more…]

Races # 3 & 4 of the PA TYCO Series were run on Sunday January 18, 2015 at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown, PA. The 1st Race of the twin bill was held on the 6 Lane Tricky Tri-Oval at Randy’s Raceway. The weather wasn’t kind to us at all so we had a small field of only 10 drivers for the events. Taking the victory on the Tri-Oval was Sheldon Hiester, who won 4 races on the day. Second went to Shane Hiester who won 2 segments on the day and ran well in all 6 of his races. Third went to Scott Bender who turned in his best run of the 2014 – 2015 Series to this point, and Scott won 2 races as well on the day. Fourth went to Randy Haydt making his 1st start of the season in the PA TYCO Series. Randy won 1 race on the day. Cup racing returned to Randy’s Raceway for race 5 of the season on the 8 lane fast track and Kenny Gilmore made his 1st appearance in over a year racing to a win. Kenny scored 6 segment wins on way to the win. Coming off his win on the Road Course Bryan Kisthart turned in a strong effort scoring 5 segment wins to come home with a runner up finish. Cup point leader Shane Hiester turned in a consistent run of 19’s on all 8 lanes to finish 3rd. Sheldon Hiester scored a segment win on lane 1 keeping his string of Top 5’s alive with a 4th place finish. The PA Tyco Series is coming to Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown, PA on Sunday January 18, 2015. This Series running only Tyco slot cars has been in existence for a good many years and it is all due to the Hiester family.  Their dedication and support has helped this hobby expand and grow in our area throughout all the years they have been racing.

RACE DAY INFO

The doors will open at 10 am and both tracks will be ready for warmups.  The first race will be at 12 noon on the 6 lane Tri-oval, there will be lunch and snacks in here somewhere and then the  second race will be on the 8 – lane oval.

On Tuesday December 30, 2014 it was the Annual Holidays 200 sponsored by Scott Bender Racing Photos at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown, PA.  There were 23 racers in attendance for the event.  Taking the win was Mark Williams.  Mark won all 8 segments en route to a perfect 200 lap total.  Second went to Shane Hiester.  Shane won 4 segments on the night in his Brian Hirthler 4* car.  Third went to Sheldon Hiester.  Sheldon won 2 segments on the night in the Jared Umbenhauer #5 car.  Fourth went to Mike Fitzgerald.  Mike won 3 segments on the night in his fast Billy Pauch car.  Rounding out the top 5 in fifth was Big T.  Big T won 3 segments on the night.  [Read more…]
