McCullough Takes Sportsman Win

Tuesday night October 23, 2012 was the third race for the Sportsman cars at Randy’s Raceway this time on the 8-Lane fast track.  There were 17 racers in attendance for the event.  Taking the win was Fred McCullough.  Fred won 7 segments on the night missing a perfect night by 1 segment.  Second went to Sheldon Hiester.  Sheldon won 5 segments on the night including the one that kept Freddy Mac from a sweep.  Third went to Shane Hiester.  Shane won 4 segments on the night to hold on to the point lead.  [Read more…]

Shane Hiester Wins Career First

It was a long time coming but veteran H.O. racer Shane Hiester from the racing Hiester family finally won his career first Modified feature.  The win by almost 1 full lap came on the tight short track know as Monk”s oval.  Hiester won 3 segments and only had 6 fall offs on the tricky six lane oval.  Previously Hietser has had many runner-ups at Randy’s Raceway but that first win had eluded him.  Finshing a career best also as the second place car was Bryan K who won two segments and was strong on all lanes getting a win on tough lane one, which was the only driver of 19 to get a win on lane one.  [Read more…]

Shane Hiester “SWEEPS” for Second Cup Win

NASCAR racing returned to the Short Track for it’s 3rd race of the season, and Shane Hiester completed a sweep for his 2nd win of the early going. Close racing within the rest of the Top5, Sheldon Hiester collected 2 segment wins on lanes 1&6 to come home 2nd. Only 4 pieces of track behind opening night winner Jim Levan scored 1 segment win to finish 3rd. [Read more…]

Levan Wins Mod Main

Veteran Jim Levan scored his first win of the season and 8th of his career at the Berks County oval called Randy’s Raceway.  Levan was real strong in his #12 Coupe bodied racer winning segments on lanes 4, 6 and 7.  Second spot went to Shane Hiester who keeps his career first Modified win at least another 2 weeks away as he still looks to get that elusive win.  Shane won just 1 segment as he was real fast on the outside taking lane 8.  Third spot went Eric Beard who made his first start of this season in his new #88 modified.  [Read more…]

Jim Levan and Shane Hiester Take Home Wins

Tuesday September 25th was the second races of the season for the Sportsman Class and the NASCAR Class at Randy’s Raceway on the “Tricky” Tri-Oval.  The night started of with the Sportsman race running first on the card.  A strong field of 17 racers took part in the event, with the victory going to Jim Levan in his 1st start of the season in the Sportsman class.  Jim won 5 of his 6 segments enroute to his victory.  Second went to Sheldon Hiester who lost by only 1 track section, winning 4 segments on the night.  Third went to Shane Hiester who ran well all night winning 2 segments on the night in a strong run.  [Read more…]

Jim Levan Wins Cup Opener

The Cup season opened on the 8 lane fast track Tuesday night and Jim Levan turned in a solid effort to score the opening night win. Jim scored 6 segment wins in his bright orange racer. Randy Haydt nearly pulled off the win running his familiar Skoal Bandit # 33 to 4 segment wins for a runner up finish. Only 23 pieces of track behind last years Cup champion Shane Hiester collected 3 segment wins for a 3rd place run. [Read more…]

Sheldon Hiester Wins Modified Opener on the Tri-Oval

Veteran racer Sheldon Hiester won the 2012-2013 season opening Modified feature at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown PA.  Hiester won 4 segments on the tricky Tri-Oval on lanes 1-4.  He never went down a lap either on any lane and only had 5 falloffs on the evening.  Second spot went to Sheldon’s much younger twin brother Shane who also had 4 segment wins and was onlt 1 piece of track from getting his first career feature in the Modified class.  Maybe he can pull it off on the short track race coming up next.  [Read more…]

Shane Hiester Wins 2012 – 13 Sportsman Opener

Tuesday night September 4, 2012 was the opener of the 2012-2013 season at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown, PA.  The season kicked off with the Sportsman 25’s on the Short Track.  This is a change for the new year, where as in the past we have started the season with Mods on the 8-Lane.  There were 15 racers in attendance for the opener.  Taking the win was defending Sportsman champ Shane Hiester.  Shane won 3 segments in route to victory.  [Read more…]

Jim Levan Scores Sprint Championship

After missing out on the Sprint car title last year by only 7 points there was a good chance Jim Levan would be in the mix this year to try to pick up that championship trophy. This year by only 9 points Jim scored his 1st Sprint car title. Jim  had 2 wins and 6 other top3 finishes on way to the title. Almost adding another championship to his strong season Shane Hiester opened the season with a win then followed that up with 8 other top 5 finishes on way to a good 2nd place finish. [Read more…]

Shane Hiester Collects 1st Cup Championship

This years NASCAR season was another action packed and competitive season. Running on all 3 tracks during the season you had to be on your game each and every week. That was Shane Hiester this year, as he scored 4 wins, including 3 straight to end the year on way to his 1st Cup title at Randy’s Raceway. Shane also was a top 5 finisher in his other 5 starts. Congrats to Shane on this title, as well as winning the IROC and Sportsmen titles. The 9 race season was not enough to separate Jim Levan and Sheldon Hiester as they finished tied for 2nd in the final standing. [Read more…]
