Sheldon Hiester makes it Two Straight

NASCAR racing made its final appearance on the Tri-Oval as Sheldon Hiester continued his late season charge with his 2nd straight Cup win, scoring 3 segment wins. Sheldon’s win was by only 1 piece of track over Mark Williams who collected 4 segment wins for a strong runner up finish. Jim Levan turned in a steady run winning 2 segments on lanes 1 and 6, for a important 3rd place finish, while tightening up the point lead heading into the season final race. Mark Williams Scores 1st Sprint Car Championship Win

It was the 9th Annual 40 lap Sprint Car Championship race Tuesday night at Randy’s Raceway on the fast 8 lane oval. A good field of 17 fast sprinters were ready for action and Mark Williams scored 6 segment wins on way to his 1st victory in this annual event. Mark’s win was by 1 lap over Kenny Gilmore who had won the previous 8 races, Kenny scored 6 segment wins. [Read more…]

SHELDON HIESTER TAKES 2

Cup racing returned to the Short Track Tuesday night and in another close night of racing Sheldon Hiester turned in 5 segment wins on way to his 1st Cup win of the season. Turning in a solid Runner up finish Jim Levan scored 4 segment wins on lanes 1 – 4, and just missed out of the win by 8 pieces of track. Sheldon Hiester, Jim Levan Score Holiday Wins

It was a Holiday Twin 15’s event on the Short track at Randy’s Raceway with the Sportsmen class starting the night off and Sheldon Hiester scored his 1st win of the year scoring 5 segment wins. Only 8 pieces of track behind Jim Levan scored 4 segment wins on the middle lanes to come home 2nd.The next 3 spots were separated by only 3 pieces of track. Mark Williams Tames Tri-Oval

Cup racing made it’s 2nd appearance on the Tri-Oval, and Mark Williams broke out of an early season slump by scoring 5 segment wins on way to his 1st NASCAR win of the year. Randy Haydt turned in a strong 2nd place finish his 2nd top 5 of the year, winning 3 segments. Always steady Jim Levan scored 2 segment

Shane Hiester “SWEEPS” for Second Cup Win

NASCAR racing returned to the Short Track for it’s 3rd race of the season, and Shane Hiester completed a sweep for his 2nd win of the early going. Close racing within the rest of the Top5, Sheldon Hiester collected 2 segment wins on lanes 1&6 to come home 2nd. Jim Levan Wins Cup Opener

The Cup season opened on the 8 lane fast track Tuesday night and Jim Levan turned in a solid effort to score the opening night win. Jim scored 6 segment wins in his bright orange racer. Randy Haydt nearly pulled off the win running his familiar Skoal Bandit # 33 to 4 segment wins for a runner up finish. Jim Levan Scores Sprint Championship

After missing out on the Sprint car title last year by only 7 points there was a good chance Jim Levan would be in the mix this year to try to pick up that championship trophy. This year by only 9 points Jim scored his 1st Sprint car title. Jim  had 2 wins and 6 other top3 finishes on way to the title. Almost adding another championship to his strong season Shane Hiester opened the season with a win then followed that up with 8 other top 5 finishes on way to a good 2nd place finish. [Read more…]

Shane Hiester Collects 1st Cup Championship

This years NASCAR season was another action packed and competitive season. Running on all 3 tracks during the season you had to be on your game each and every week. That was Shane Hiester this year, as he scored 4 wins, including 3 straight to end the year on way to his 1st Cup title at Randy’s Raceway. Shane also was a top 5 finisher in his other 5 starts. Congrats to Shane on this title, as well as winning the IROC and Sportsmen titles. The 9 race season was not enough to separate Jim Levan and Sheldon Hiester as they finished tied for 2nd in the final standing. [Read more…]

Schedule and Rules Meeting

Randy’s Raceway held it’s season ending rules meeting Tuesday night April 17th discussing several topics, the group included Bob Amore, Corey Bailey, Jim Levan, Scott Bender, Brian Kisthardt and Mark & Jodi Williams. To cut down on the lateness of the “Double Shows” the 6 race Sprint Car and IROC Divisions have been eliminated. [Read more…]
